in Överenhörna, South Lake Mälaren, Sweden
Scouts carve stone under Ymer 16
Ymer 16 was a Scout camp in late summer 2016. The
camp had about 1,500 participants from some 30 scout troops
and lasted between 30 July and 6 August 2016.
The theme of
the camp was Norse mythology with elements of the Vikings.
The camp was in Överenhörna, south Lake Malaren.
As part of the program included the carving a rune stone on
a rock face/slab that I had created and painted up centrally
in the camp area.
The idea was not new, for just 21 years ago was the same
thing on another rock face in Haninge, south of Stockholm
during the scout camp "Viking
Some of the scout leaders were ahead take a quick course
in carving technique here at Adelsö and afterwards they
borrowed a few sets chisels for the success of the mission.
