Old stories about the runestone

According to an old story the stone was moved
in the 19th century to be used in a stair in front of
a house in Drävle.

The transportation was slow and as many as three
oxen were used to move the stone. When the stone
was finally put in place by the house accidents
started to happen and there were noises at night.

An old lady broke her leg and the son in the house
hurt himself so badly that he died.
After this it was
decided that the stone were to be moved back again.

When the first of the three oxen had been hitched
to the wagon he started running and he did not stop
until he was back at the original location.

Unfortunately it fell in a deep hole and risked being
covered in dirt and forgotten.

On 2 October 1877 Lars von Benzelstierna Engström
got permission to move the stone to Göksbo farm.
He moved it and placed it on the location where it
can be found today.

If you want to visit the stone the owners of Göksbo
farm want you to let them know. You will find the
information here. “Map & location
